Affordable Housing Opportunity in North Brunswick

North Brunswick Crescent is a redeveloped property consisting of 183 one - and two- bedroom apartments. Improvements to the apartments include new kitchens and baths, the addition of central heating and air conditioning, a new laundry closet with washer and dryer hookups, and upgrades to exterior, flooring, and fixtures. In addition, a new clubhouse is being added to the property, which will feature a management office and activity space for residents. Rents are set at 60% Area Media Income (AMI) for Middlesex County.

Court orders release of secret housing report
New Jersey residents and fair housing advocates won a legal victory in the fight for transparency today, when the Appellate Division ordered the release of a secret housing report this morning.
A group of towns have been fighting for nearly two years to prevent disclosure of the taxpayer-funded housing report, which was compiled by Rutgers University professor Robert Burchell for towns across New Jersey seeking to minimize their housing obligations. (more)

May 23, 2017 — While recent news reports have highlighted the low number of affordable housing projects using federal tax credits that are built in high-opportunity areas, New Jersey Future today released an analysis showing that strategic changes in the way the state allocates those tax credits have meant a significant increase in the number of new affordable housing projects that have been directed away from high-poverty neighborhoods and toward areas that offer greater economic opportunity.
