Personal Statement:

I spent five years working directly with low-income individuals facing foreclosure and eviction in New Jersey. I stood next to them in landlord-tenant court when they realized they quite simply could not afford this month’s rent because they lost their job, or a loved one became injured, and they had no rainy day fund. It is on account of my low and moderate income clients that I feel the need to fight to expand access to safe, decent, affordable housing in the midst of this housing crisis. Fair Share Housing Center is, quite simply, the gold standard of that transformative work.
