Fair Share Housing Center Applauds HUD’s Advancement of Critical Fair Housing Rule
Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released proposed changes to the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule. According to HUD, the proposed rule is intended to remedy the effects of the long history of discrimination in housing and help foster opportunity in communities across the country where every resident can thrive. In response to the release of the proposed rule, Fair Share Housing Center issued the following statement.
Adam Gordon, Executive Director:
“Fair Share Housing Center applauds HUD and Secretary Fudge for advancing housing justice with the release of proposed changes to the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing rule. This rule plays a critical role in safeguarding fair and equitable housing, and is an essential tool in the fight to end housing discrimination. We look forward to working with HUD to strengthen these protection in the pursuit of safe, healthy, and affordable housing for all.”
